Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has hinted at a potential PC port of their successful PS5 exclusive. While currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive due to their partnership with Sony, the game's strong sales and critical acclaim (an 82 average on OpenCritic from 124 reviews, and a top-selling title in the US its launch month) have fueled speculation.
During a recent IPO press conference, CEO Kim Hyung-Tae stated that a PC port is "under consideration," though the timing remains uncertain due to contractual obligations with Sony. CFO Jae-woo Ahn further emphasized the growing PC market share for AAA titles, suggesting a PC release could significantly boost the IP's value. These comments follow a previous financial report hinting at both a sequel and a PC port.
Given Sony's recent strategy of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC (with God of War: Ragnarok being the latest example), a Stellar Blade PC release seems increasingly likely. While Shift Up weighs its options, the developer is actively working on optimizing the PS5 version, addressing recent graphical issues reported by players. The future looks bright for Stellar Blade, regardless of platform.
