Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise releases. This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but! We'll cover the news, review the new eShop games, and list the latest sales. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase Delivers a Bounty of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved effective, delivering a wave of announcements. Highlights include surprise game launches (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remasters, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new entries in the Atelier and Rune Factory series, and much more. I recommend watching the full video for a complete overview – it's well worth your time!

Spotlight on New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A fantastic surprise! This third Castlevania collection features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notoriously difficult arcade game, Haunted Castle, alongside a much-improved M2 remake. The emulation is excellent, offering a comprehensive package at an incredible price.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is a whirlwind of frantic action. Players must conquer five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save their restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will adore this, but even those without a strong Wario connection should find its fast-paced platforming engaging. A review is planned.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

Another surprise release! Goat Simulator 3 continues the series' tradition of chaotic, open-world goat mayhem. While performance on the Switch is yet to be fully assessed (other platforms have experienced some issues), the inherent silliness of the game might even enhance any potential performance hiccups. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if this brand of goofy fun is worth the risk.

Peglin ($19.99)

For fans of Peggle, Peglin is a must-have. This unique blend of Peggle mechanics and turn-based roguelite RPG elements has been a mobile hit and translates seamlessly to the Switch. A full review is coming soon.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's latest simulation game uses the popular Doraemon license to inject new life into their familiar formula. The game features many beloved characters and even includes cameos from the manga artist's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park fun for existing fans! Up to eight players can participate in local or online multiplayer, solving puzzle stages through teamwork. While not drastically different from its predecessor, it's a solid addition for those who enjoyed the first game.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring music from Kamitsubaki Studio. Enjoy the music and story at a budget-friendly price.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels await those who enjoy crate-pushing challenges.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics puzzles await. Players use character abilities and drawing mechanics to solve puzzles, with local and online multiplayer for up to four players.
