Tekken Producer and Director Still Rocks PS3 Fighting Stick Harada’s Fighting Stick Is His “Fighting Edge”
Tekken Series Producer and Director Katsuhiro Harada at the recently concluded Olympics Noticed an Olympic shooter using a custom arcade stick part. This prompted fans to ask about his preferred fighting stick. To the surprise of many, the Tekken 8 producer admitted that he is loyal to the outdated Hori Fighting EDGE, a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fighting stick that is no longer in production.
There is nothing special about Hori Fighting EDGE. It's just a controller released twelve years ago. However, what makes his Hori Fighting Edge interesting is its serial number: "00765." Although seemingly ordinary, these numbers form the Japanese pronunciation of "Namco", the company behind the Tekken series.
It is unclear whether Harada specifically requested this serial number, received it as a gift from Hori, or if it was just a random coincidence. Regardless, the number holds great sentimental value for Harada as it represents the company's roots. His fondness for the number was so great that he even mentioned that the same number was incorporated into his license plate.
Given the availability of newer, high-end fighting sticks like the Tekken 8 Pro FS Premium Arcade Fight Stick—which Harada used during his EVO 2024 match against Twitch streamer LilyPichu—many were intrigued by his choice. While the Hori Fighting EDGE might lack the bells and whistles of newer models, the fact that it has been his faithful companion for so many years is enough for it to have a special place in Harada's heart.
