How to Play Okey Game: The offline Okey game is traditionally played with four players. Each player uses a cue stick to sort their tiles. The game includes tiles in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, along with two fake Okey tiles, making a total of 106 tiles.
At the start of the game, tiles are shuffled and automatically distributed. The player next to the distributor receives 15 tiles, while the others get 14. Players then arrange their tiles into groups or pairs according to their cues.
Tiles not distributed to players are placed in the center of the table. The open numbered tile in the center serves as the indicator tile, and the tile matching its color and number is the Okey tile, which can substitute for any tile in the game. Completing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.
Normal Tile Arrangement in Okey Game: Players aim to form at least three pairs from the tiles in their hands. Pairs can be formed in two ways:
- Sequentially by placing tiles of the same color side by side.
- By grouping tiles of the same number across different colors.
Pair Formation in Okey Game: To finish the game, a player must arrange all tiles into pairs, and upon forming seven pairs, they end the game by discarding the last tile to the center.
Indicator Rule in Okey Game: At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it matches the Okey color, points are deducted from other players; otherwise, two points are subtracted.
End of Okey Game:
- A normal finish without an Okey tile results in a deduction of 2 points from other players; with an Okey tile, it's 4 points.
- Completing the game with seven pairs deducts 4 points from other players.
- Finishing with all tiles of the same color in order from 1 to 13 results in other players' points dropping to zero, ending the game.
- If all tiles are the same color but not in order, 8 points are deducted from other players.
