Developed by Choice Provisions, the creative minds behind the BIT.TRIP series, Breakout Beyond maintains the core objective of breaking bricks. Originally slated to be an exclusive title for the Intellivision Amico in 2020, Breakout Beyond's development took a new direction when Atari decided to acquire and complete the game. The Intellivision Amico, initially announced in 2018 with a hopeful 2020 release, has faced numerous delays and setbacks. Although Atari acquired the branding and rights to Intellivision last year, the Amico itself remains unreleased. However, fans of Breakout won't have to wait long, as Breakout Beyond is set to launch later this year across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Atari VCS.
