Firaxis Games Unveils Civ 7 Post-Launch Roadmap
Firaxis Games has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII (Civ 7), detailing upcoming content following the game's February 11th release. The roadmap includes both paid DLC and free updates.
Paid DLC: Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar
The first wave of paid DLC will feature Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar as playable leaders. This content is slated for release in March, along with other additions.
Free March Updates: New Wonders and More
March's free updates will include exciting new additions to the game. Specific details are yet to be fully disclosed, but expect significant enhancements.
Beyond March: Future Content and Features
Firaxis has confirmed plans for additional content beyond the March updates, including two more leaders, four new civilizations, and four world wonders. New events and challenges are also in the works, but release dates remain unannounced. Further content drops are planned for October 2025 and beyond.
The developers also highlighted several features initially planned for launch but postponed. These include:
- Adding teams to multiplayer games
- Increasing the maximum number of players in multiplayer to eight
- Allowing players to select starting and ending ages
- Introducing a wider variety of map types
- Implementing hotseat multiplayer
While release dates for these features are unavailable, Firaxis assures players that development is underway.
