FragPunk, a new 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter, has launched on PC, receiving a mixed 67% rating on Steam based on initial player reviews. The game's unique selling point is its innovative use of fragment-cards. These dynamically alter gameplay mid-match, creating unpredictable and varied combat experiences. Developers describe the cards as combinable, counteracting each other, and adding a strategic layer to the core FPS mechanics.
Players can select from 13 unique launchers, each with special abilities, catering to both collaborative and solo playstyles. FragPunk allows players to showcase individual skill within the online matches.
However, Bad Guitar, the studio behind FragPunk, has announced a delay for the console versions. Initially scheduled for a March 6th release across all platforms, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have been postponed due to unforeseen technical issues. A new release date is yet to be announced, but the developers assure players of ongoing updates.
