Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum, an engaging fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. This eagerly anticipated game is set to launch in 2025 across multiple platforms including PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, which has been left in ruins by a magical cataclysm, Absolum introduces players to a realm where magic is feared and exploited. The tyrannical ruler, King-Sun Azra, harnesses these fears to enslave mages using his oppressive Crimson Order. However, hope arises with a courageous group of heroes who stand against his tyranny. This band includes the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr, all of whom are ready to fight for freedom.
Players can look forward to exhilarating action, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and an array of magical spells. Absolum offers both single-player and cooperative gameplay modes, allowing players to team up, combine their attacks, and synchronize their strikes for devastating effect.
Adding to the immersive experience, the game's soundtrack is being composed by an esteemed trio of legendary musicians: Gareth Coker, acclaimed for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, known for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, celebrated for his scores in DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
