Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards: Quests Arrive on PC, Age Restrictions Implemented
Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass introduces Quests to its PC platform, offering rewards exclusively to users aged 18 and older. This update expands reward opportunities with daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, and reinstates the popular weekly streaks. Players earn points by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes, unlocking various rewards. However, access to these new features is strictly limited to those 18 and above.
This significant overhaul aims to create age-appropriate gaming experiences. While Xbox Game Pass provides a vast library of games for a monthly subscription, the new Quests and Rewards system is now more accessible. PC Game Pass subscribers (18+) join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in accessing the revamped Rewards Hub via their profile. Points are earned through gameplay (minimum 15 minutes), but only for games within the Game Pass catalog, excluding those using third-party launchers.
Key Game Pass Quests and Rewards Changes:
- PC Game Pass Quest Access: Available January 7th.
- New Quest Types:
- Daily Play: 10 points for 15 minutes of gameplay.
- Weekly Streaks: Points increase based on consecutive days played (5+ days minimum), with multipliers reaching 4x for streaks of 4+ weeks.
- Monthly 4-Pack & 8-Pack: Points for playing four or eight different games (15 minutes each) per month.
- PC Weekly Bonus: 150 points for playing 5+ days (15 minutes per day).
- Age Restriction: The Rewards Hub (accessible via Xbox console, Windows PC app, and mobile app) is now unavailable to users under 18.
The streamlined Quest system offers more frequent opportunities to earn rewards. Maintaining weekly streaks significantly boosts point accumulation, while daily and monthly challenges encourage broader game exploration. An additional PC weekly bonus rewards consistent play. Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content, restricting the new rewards system to users 18 and older. Younger players can only earn rewards through parental purchases from the Microsoft Store. This update aims to enhance the overall Game Pass experience for eligible members.
