GOG Revives Dino Crisis 1 and 2 for PC Gamers

Authore: EllieUpdate:Apr 10,2025

The beloved cult classics, *Dino Crisis* and *Dino Crisis 2*, have been resurrected and are now available on PC through GOG. These iconic PlayStation survival horror games are part of GOG's Preservation Program, ensuring they are DRM-free and retain their original content. Capcom originally launched *Dino Crisis* on the PlayStation in 1999, followed by *Dino Crisis 2* in 2000. Although *Dino Crisis 3* was released as an Xbox exclusive in 2003, fans have been left waiting for a new installment ever since.

Despite fan demand for a new entry or an HD remake, Capcom has shown little interest. The 2022 announcement of *Exoprimal*, a multiplayer action game featuring dinosaurs, was perceived by many as the final blow to hopes for a *Dino Crisis* revival. Furthermore, in August of the previous year, *Dino Crisis* creator Shinji Mikami noted that the success of Capcom's *Monster Hunter* series leaves little room for a *Dino Crisis* reboot or remake.

Previously, the PC ports of the first two *Dino Crisis* games were hard to find and challenging to run on modern systems. GOG's efforts to bring these games back are highly appreciated by the gaming community.

"Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Capcom and GOG, Regina’s iconic line, 'You’re extinct!' no longer applies to the game itself," GOG stated about *Dino Crisis*. "The timeless thriller that defined a generation of gamers is made to last forever, enhanced for today’s systems, featuring all the original content you loved with numerous improvements."
