Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!
The beloved Heroes Brawl game mode is back in Heroes of the Storm, rebranded as Brawl Mode! This exciting update brings back dozens of previously unavailable maps, offering unique challenges and fresh gameplay experiences after a five-year hiatus.
Brawl Mode, initially launched as Arena Mode in 2016, featured weekly rotating maps with unique rulesets and objectives. Remember the all-Nova sniper duels, action-packed Arena versions of classic battlegrounds, and the thrilling Escape from Braxis PvE mission? These creative variations, inspired by Hearthstone's Tavern Brawls, were a fan favorite. However, due to the rising popularity of single-lane maps and the maintenance challenges, it was eventually replaced by ARAM in 2020.
Now, Brawl Mode is making a triumphant return! Currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR), it will officially launch with the next patch, approximately one month from now. Key differences from the original Heroes Brawl include a bi-weekly rotation (1st and 15th of each month) and a special chest reward for completing three games within the active Brawl period. The exact reward structure (single reward per Brawl or multiple rewards per week) is yet to be confirmed. With a vast library of past Brawls, players can anticipate a diverse selection of returning favorites and potentially new Brawls in the future.
The PTR currently features the festive Snow Brawl. Given the PTR's anticipated three-week duration, the official launch of Brawl Mode is likely slated for early February. This revival is especially timely, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Heroes of the Storm on June 2nd, 2025. The return of Brawl Mode is a significant victory for fans, and many hope it signals a broader resurgence for the game.
