Palworld's Dark Fragments: A Guide to Acquisition and Use

Palworld's vast Feybreak DLC introduces a wealth of crafting materials, including the elusive Dark Fragments. This guide details how to obtain and utilize these crucial components for crafting high-end equipment.

Obtaining Dark Fragments

Dark Fragment Source

To acquire Dark Fragments, focus on capturing or defeating Dark-elemental Pals exclusively on Feybreak Island. Pals on other islands won't yield these fragments. You'll need to venture inland, as coastal Pals are typically ground or water types. Note that some Dark-elemental Pals, like Starryon, are primarily nocturnal. Using Ultimate or Exotic Pal Spheres is recommended for capture.

Each captured or defeated Dark-elemental Pal yields 1-3 Dark Fragments, though it's not a guaranteed drop. Diligent hunting is key to accumulating a sufficient supply.

The following Dark-elemental Pals drop Dark Fragments:

Pal Name Drop Rate
Starryon 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina 2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct 1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Starryon (Midnight Blue Mane) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Starryon 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul (Hundred-Faced Apostle) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina (Crismon Butcher) 2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct (Born of the Thunderclouds) 1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct (Guardian of the Dark Flame) 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Omascul 1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Splatterina 2-3 x Dark Fragments

While less reliable, you may occasionally find single Dark Fragments scattered across Feybreak. Thorough exploration is thus advised.
