Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories
Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring a quartet of high-end accessories: the DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. These premium additions don't come cheap, however.
The DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal, and Pulse Explore earbuds are all priced at $199.99, while the Pulse Elite headset will set you back $149.99. Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, with a full launch scheduled for February 20th, 2025, exclusively through direct.playstation.com.
This announcement, timed with the excitement surrounding CES 2025, follows Sony's previous releases of color variants for the DualSense controller, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Galactic Purple. The Midnight Black collection offers a sophisticated, dark aesthetic for gamers. Adding to the excitement, rumors suggest a significant upgrade for the PlayStation VR2 headset is on the horizon.
The Midnight Black DualSense Edge controller, a modern update to the original Midnight Black DualSense, includes a dedicated black carrying case. The price point of $199.99 aligns with the PlayStation Portal. While the original Midnight Black Pulse 3D wireless headset retailed for $99.99, the Pulse Elite boasts a higher price tag of $149.99, despite both it and the Pulse Explore earbuds shipping in a grey felt case. The Pulse Explore earbuds also command a premium price of $199.99.
