"Netflix Stories Cancelled, Yet Still Playable!"

Netflix has officially announced the closure of its interactive fiction games under the Netflix Stories banner, marking the end of a brief yet intriguing foray into narrative gaming. This decision may come as a surprise to many, given that the games boasted a robust player base. So, what led to the cancellation of Netflix Stories? Let's dive in for all the details!

The news was initially reported by Variety and is part of a larger strategic pivot at Netflix Games. The company is now shifting its focus towards mobile titles that encompass party games, games for kids, mainstream releases, and more interactive experiences that can be enjoyed on TV screens.

Boss Fight Entertainment, the creative force behind the Netflix Stories series, will continue to collaborate with Netflix on other projects, including the highly anticipated Squid Game: Unleashed.

Netflix Stories Gets Cancelled, But Is It Shutting Down?

Despite facing some criticism, Netflix Stories consistently secured a spot among the top-played titles on the Netflix Games platform. Recent data indicates it's currently ranked fourth in the Netflix Games top 10, a list that prioritizes playtime over downloads.

Looking ahead, the final interactive title in the Netflix Stories lineup will be Love Is Blind: NYC. Once this game's rollout concludes, no further Netflix Stories titles will be developed. This announcement comes on the heels of the Netflix Stories app teasing its next release, The Love Contract, originally slated for April 8th. Unlike its predecessors, The Love Contract was not based on existing Netflix IP but was an original romance narrative revolving around an actress navigating a complex relationship with a Hollywood star and a billionaire, amidst fame, scandal, and fake dating. Regrettably, this game has been cancelled.

Although the development of new titles has ceased, existing Netflix Stories games will remain accessible. Fans can continue to enjoy titles such as Love Is Blind, Emily in Paris, Money Heist, Love Is Blind: Winter’s Kiss, Perfect Match, Sex Education, Selling Sunset, Sweet Magnolias, Virgin River, and The Perfect Couple. However, planned sequels for Outer Banks and Ginny & Georgia have been axed.

That's the latest on the cancellation of Netflix Stories! If you're a fan of Netflix shows and want to explore their gaming offerings, you can still find these games on the Google Play Store.
