Meridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has cancelled the physical release of the game for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Europe. The cancellation, announced on Twitter (X), cites technical difficulties with multilingual European localization.

While the publisher offered no further details beyond the initial statement regarding the localization issues, the cancellation follows a series of delays. Initially slated for a March 2023 release, the physical edition was pushed back to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally to January 2025 before ultimately being scrapped. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were affected by these postponements.

This news is particularly disappointing for European fans, as the physical release would have been the first official opportunity to play Omori in Spanish and other European languages. Importing a US copy remains the only option for those seeking a physical version.

Omori, an RPG following Sunny's journey through reality and a dream world, initially launched on PC in December 2020 and expanded to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. It's worth noting that the Xbox version was subsequently removed due to an unrelated issue with merchandise sold by the developer in 2013.
