Josef Fares Reveals Key Details About Split Fiction in Recent Interview

Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares recently revealed crucial details about their upcoming title, Split Fiction, during a MinnMax interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares underscored Hazelight's unwavering dedication to a model free of live-service elements and microtransactions. The studio has no plans for an IPO or acquisition by a larger entity:

"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

The core storyline of Split Fiction is estimated to take 12-14 hours to complete, comparable to the playtime of It Takes Two. With optional tasks and extra content factored in, players can anticipate a total playtime of 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight is known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player projects. He disclosed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has opted against post-launch DLC, guaranteeing all content is available from launch day. Split Fiction will be released worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
