Deadlock Gets a Big Update from Valve

Authore: AuroraUpdate:Mar 18,2025

Valve has released a major update for Deadlock, completely revamping its map. The four-lane design is gone, replaced by a three-lane structure more in line with traditional MOBAs. This fundamental change will drastically alter gameplay. Previously, a common strategy involved a "1 vs 2" lane distribution; now, expect a shift to two heroes per lane, demanding new strategic approaches and resource management.

The map's redesign extends to neutral camps, buffs, and other key locations. To ease the transition, a new "map exploration" mode has been added, letting players freely explore the revised layout without the pressure of combat.

This patch also overhauls the Soul Orb system. Players can now accumulate souls even without directly securing the kill, leading to faster resource gathering. Soul effects have also been tweaked, notably reducing their air-hover time.

Further improvements include refined sprint mechanics, character balance adjustments, and enhanced performance. The update also adds support for DLSS, FSR, NVIDIA Reflex, and Anti-Lag 2.0 technologies. Numerous bug fixes are included. For a comprehensive list of changes, consult the official patch notes.
